Kanyashree

1. Enrollment: 

•  Over 48,000 K-1 and 7800 K-2 girls enrolled during 2017-2018 Kanyashree year
• Over 49,900 K-1 and 8300 K-2 girls enrolled during 2018-2019 Kanyashree year
• Over 45,200 K-1 and 7900 K-2 girls enrolled during 2019-2020 Kanyashree year (till Dec. 2019)

2. Project Lakshya: 

• Launched in October, 2019
• Free Coaching to 40 Kanyashree girls for WBJEE, NEET and IIT who were selected after a pan-district screening test
• Collaboration with EDUDIGM, Kolkata

 3.  Project Pragya: 

• Launched in January, 2020
• Breast Cancer awareness programme in schools
• Convergence with Health and Family Welfare Department 

4. Self-Defence Programme: 

• 3 month’ classes completed in 55 high schools/senior madrassahs 
• Inter-Block Martial Arts Tournament for Kanyashree girls to be held in Jan, 2020

5. Menstrual Hygiene Awareness: 

• Sanitary Pad Vending Machines installed 33 high schools and senior madrassahs, 4 colleges and 1 Eklavya Hostel
• Distribution of low cost sanitary napkins to schools by women’s credit cooperative societies like AALO Credit Cooperative Society, Kushmandi Marketing Society and Gangarampur Pragati Mahila Cooperative. 
• Distribution of free sanitary pads by UDITA Kanyashree Club in Belbari II and Damdama Gram Panchayat areas of Gangarampur. 

6. Sensitsation on Child Marriage, Child Abuse and Child Trafficking: 

• Workshop cum sensitisation programme in 32 high schools so far
• Collaboration with District Child Protection Unit

7. Swapno Bhor:

• Skill development training for 250 Kanyashree girls on beautician make-up, tailoring, advanced computer learning, art and craft/ handicraft, etc. 
• Training on hospitality management and cake baking are also being considered
• Convergence with Utkarsha Bangla

8. Other Socio-Cultural / Environmental Awareness Activities:

• Active participation in ‘Save Water, Save Life’ and ‘Go Green, Stay Clean’ programme 
• Kanyashree girls led dengue prevention activities by 92 Kanyashree Clubs
• Distribution of flood relief material by UDITA Kanyashree Club in Belbari I Gram Panchayat area after the 2017 floods
• Celebration of Rakhi Utsav at Patiram BSF Camp every year
• Participation in Nirmal Bangla and Safe Drive, Save Life awareness rallies
• Collection of relief fund for the Kerala flood victims by 12-Kanyashree Clubs in 2019

 9. Kanyashree Football Tournament, 2018: 

• Participation of 37 competing teams from all blocks
• Held as a part of Electoral Literacy Programme, which carried the tagline – ‘ Strong Women, Stronger Democracy’ 

10. Kanyashree Graphic Novel: 

• ‘UTTARAN’ unveiled on Kanyashree Day, 2019 and is being distributed to Kanyashree girls
